Free for about 120 Bay Area high schoolers means somebody else pays for the room, the food, the insurance and the laptops. Right now that is nobody, and this is the first one — no track record, no past photos, no numbers to show you.

Folding tables stacked against a bare wall, plain cardboard boxes on the floor, a coil of orange extension cable on top.

No booths, no banners, no recruiting, and we never hand over the attendee list. The peer-voted award is not for sale at any tier. Named slots go in tier order — if one is committed when you sign, we tell you before you sign.

Not money

Any one of these is worth as much to us as a cheque, and some of them are worth more. The venue is the one we lose sleep over.

  • A venue for 120 people, 7:00am to 10:00pm

  • Pre-configured loaner laptops

  • AI coding tool access for students who need it

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner from a licensed caterer

  • Mentors — working engineers and builders, for the afternoon
